From Creating Healthier Communities: "CHC’s Shelly Douglas, Senior Director, Corporate Engagement, recently threw the first pitch at the 2023 American Cancer Society Strike Out Cancer Night at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. Shelly has had a lifelong connection to the sport, playing through college along with her sisters. She credits the sport for teaching her about sacrifice, hard work, teamwork and perseverance. Unfortunately, like far too many who have lost loved ones to cancer, Shelly lost her mother, her biggest fan, to cancer in 2013.

The American Cancer Society is a long-standing CHC nonprofit partner. The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer."
